Midfielder James McLean scored twice as Derry move up to second in the table overnight after their biggest win of the season.

Ruairi Harkin shot Derry in front after 11 minutes with McLean doubling their lead on 22 minutes.

Enda Curran got a goal back for Mervue from a 35th minutes penalty.

But Patrick McEleney restored Derry lead on 70 minutes with McLean sealing the win with his second of the night three minutes later.
